Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a bilingual Financial Specialist (English/Spanish) with a solid background in accounting and financial operations to support our activities in Costa Rica and Colombia. This role will be the primary point of contact for our US-based Finance team and local third-party vendors, ensuring accurate financial reporting, transaction oversight, and support in forecasting processes. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the point of contact for the US Finance team and coordinate with third-party vendors in Costa Rica and Colombia.
- Monitor, review, and reconcile transactional details from both countries to ensure financial accuracy.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities, including preparation and review of financial statements.
- Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis processes.
- Maintain and analyze the balance sheet, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial processes and compliance.
- Ensure alignment with internal controls, policies, and local accounting standards.
NECESSARY ATTRIBUTES:
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Experience working in a shared service or multinational environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet structures, financial reporting, and forecasting.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with cross-border teams and third-party vendors is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a focus in Finance (for Costa Rica).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial operations.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal communication).
