Human Resources Manager CR

Role and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manage is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the administrative HR functions of the Costa Rica organization. They will serve as a consult to leaders on strategic planning, and as a link between an organization’s management and its employees. The Human Resources Manager is the go-to person for all employee-related issues.  They will have a direct link to the corporate Human Resources function and play a critical role in the overall success of Health Prime. A successful candidate will be someone who has a strong HR background and is passionate about building relationships with others. This job is located in Heredia, Costa Rica and has remote capabilities.


  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across in CR
  • Nurture a positive working environment
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Assist with the performance management and review process
  • Providing support for payroll processing
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding process
  • Other duties as applicable

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. May be substituted with work experience
  • 5+ years in human resources
  • B2+ Level English written and oral
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and explain the legal framework regulating employment
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and organize assigned tasks and workflow
  • Knowledge of HR policies and systems
  • Familiarity with HR software ADP and working knowledge of MS Office
