Position Overview:

Health Prime is searching for a Chief Financial Officer to join their fast-paced, innovative team. The Chief Financial Officer has the primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and running the financial activities of a company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for driving strategic initiatives that support the organization’s mission and long-term success. Serves as the HPI’s principal financial strategist and leads the strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure financial stability. They will collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to make key decisions regarding the company’s business strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management and private equity experience. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and management to the finance team.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer and members of the executive management team on Growth.
  • Manage the processes for financial forecasting, budget, audit functions, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
  • Management of subsidiary business units and consolidating financials to parent level for PE owner.
  • Drive/Support the organization in their M&A activities.
  • Prepare and present board package for monthly/quarterly reviews.
  • Prepare departmental budgets so business units have ownership and accountability over financials.
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning.
  • Establish and develop relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Overall financial operations of revenue cycle management including accounting, budgetary, audits, tax, and other financial planning activities within the organization; including management of respective department heads.
  • Working with management to develop and implement policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, objectives and plans.
  • Providing financial leadership to managers, directors and officers that will enroll support, create ownership of goals, and encourage active participation in decisions that impact the company.
  • Ensuring the company meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Contributing financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
  • Managing costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the company’s Chief Executive Officer and leadership team.
  • Participating in the company’s monthly operations reviews as well as participating in corporate office meetings as deemed necessary.
  • Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading the department/team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations and expense approvals.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 and other accounting/revenue recognition requirements.
  • Experience working in a levered environment, focus on cash flow.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong finance-based analytical skills with Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • A proven track history in Healthcare Finance (Strategy, Operations, RCM, M&A).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, the Board, and vendors.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with management of RCM operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with and manage change, maintain relationships with emotional maturity and self-motivation.
  • M&A execution – sourcing, diligence, driving synergies and integrations post-acquisition.
  • Experience including strategic oversight with an emphasis on financial reporting analysis and cash flow management.
  • Revenue cycle knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible for the administrative aspects of leading the department/ team to include budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations and expense approvals.
  • Performance orientation. High sense of urgency. Strong leadership, willing to challenge leaders as necessary to ensure good decisions. Free from bias and emotions.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience scaling a business – driving operational excellence and supporting strategic decisions as the company scales. Experience building infrastructure to match scale.
  • Industry experience. Healthcare provider and/or payor required. RCM preferred, but not necessarily required.
  • International experience is a plus.
  • A solid understanding of IT/Tech and its role in Healthcare.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in healthcare services/technology and revenue cycle management with track record of success.
  • Experience in managing a PE backed environment (reporting, change mgt, ops excellence, etc.)
  • 15+ years’ experience in financial management required.
  • Private Equity backed experience.
  • Previous experience with mergers/acquisitions and integrations.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
